Tuffreel Vapour Barrier Polythene 

The primary function of Tuffreel™ Vapour Barrier is to control the movement of interstitial condensation within a structure. Persistent exposure to high moisture levels within the structure can cause decay of timber, corrosion of metal parts (eg. nails, connectors etc.), reduction in insulation values and adversely affect masonry. Condensation will occur when saturated warm air comes into contact with a cold surface or cooler air.
Tuffreel™ Vapour Barrier is specifically designed for use as a vapour barrier to be applied to the warm side of insulation and should be installed in accordance with the recommendations of ‘Code of practice for control of condensation on buildings’ BS5250:2002. The product must be securely fixed, and effectively continuous (overlap joints and suitable self-adhesive tape on breaks such as pipes etc.). It is not intended for use either as a damp proof membrane or a Roof Sarking.

Tuffreel™ Vapour Barrier conforms to the requirements of BS EN 13984:2013 – Flexible sheets for waterproofing – Plastic and rubber vapour control layers – Definitions and characteristics.
